Haitian-American Expressionist Arts + Designs
Introduction
My name is Reginald Rousseau. I am a Haitian born Contemporary Visual Artist, base in Harlem, New York. I specializes in producing a unique brand of raw, dimentional, fresh, vibrant series of images that capture the essence of my subjects, from portraits to still lifes and abstracts. I produce 3 to 9 arts series per year, consisting from 3 to 9 pieces depending on sizes.
Approach
I approach my work with a unique perspective, I do it for the live of creating something from a mere idea and bring it to fruitful. My artistic vision is derive from; my Haitian heritage - a radical fusion of African, Tiano Indians, French and American cultures and traditions; and my educational background which includes Fine Arts, Architectural Designs and Construction Management. My style and technique are broad and flexible, developed over years of experimenting with both conventional and unconvential mediums. In my work you will find elements of Naive Arts, Outsider Art, POP Art and Fine Art which I use in creating a dynamic pictorial idiom that is not only multi-dimentional but also multi-sensual, in my opinion.
Today, my works encompasses mixed-media assemblages paintings, digital arts and constructive art objects. I am also designing and fabricating a series of site-specific public arts.
